Following the Revolutionary War, many New Englanders settled in New York near the mountains, where a number of quaintly dignified houses were built. They had clapboard siding, symmetrically placed windows and a doorway below graceful windows acting as a central motif. Here is an appealing rendition of the simple, straightforward character of these houses. Located upstairs are 3 or 4 large-sized bedrooms, and a master suite with a private bath.
